Hi. My name is Ace McArleton, and I am co founder, co CEO of New Frameworks.
Will brought the like compendium of skills and talents that he has collected in his years together, from sort of strategic business development working with startups, Will was able to really advise and help push us along on all those fronts to the point where we were able to have a fully functioning sales and marketing platform and team who now carry forward the work. I met Will through the ARC program (Academic Research Commercialization). We really got to know each other because we both led technologies and were commercializing them at the same time.
Will helped our team organize our tasks. He came on when we really wanted to scale and grow past just having weekly team meetings. We started as just a very small startup with three people, to having weekly meetings with six plus people in the room.
Basically came to him saying, "we need to have a streamlined process", but we didn't know how to do that, and so he organized our entire process, implemented that, and made sure that it works well for us.
Everything that he did for us was individualized. He did the research prior to giving us a strategy, he's able to tell us how it is.It was very clear that Will actually cared about our company and our success, and he would do anything to help us get to the point where we wanted to be.

My name is Blackwell Hird, and I'm attempting to stand up. Blackwell Ink, a physical manufacturer of board and tabletop games in the US.
When I moved back to Vermont, I needed to get out and start networking. It's the one thing I hadn't done before, and when I initially talked about my idea and six or seven heads pivoted to ask me "why" he (Will) was the only one that stayed after the initial interest to dig deeper.
I respond to energy with similar energy, and when we got to talking, he asked questions. I was able to ask him questions, and he treated me like a peer. He introduced me to the concept of starting my own business as not just an idea, but actually possible, and he helped me refine the idea into something that actually was actionable. Not only did he give me the time of day, which is important, he also saw value and asked more questions to help ME understand the value of my idea.
The process of working with Will is much the same as it would be with a good co worker and a really good friend; supportive, challenging and clarifying. He also knows everyone to talk to, which is the best part of that relationship. If you come to him with an idea and he asks you, how would you go about doing this? He tosses the idea back to you, and he'll help you refine it with questions.
There was one point in the development of this process that, through research and mathematics, I determined that it was physically impossible to do, and it was only because Will said, just double check everything and think of things and try and go to places you haven't thought of before. His insistence that there could be a way, but that I had to reframe the problem, and that's Will's superpower is to ask you questions that get you to think differently about problems you encounter.
His slightly less known superpower is to be able to judge your needs, even if you don't necessarily know them. So when Will says, “What can I do? How can I help?” If you tell him, "Well, I need funding" he will take the information you've given him, assess where you are and go, "Well, there's no funding to be had, but if you go through this program, they offer funds" And so we've now taken this through to a point where I've got funding, I've got space that he put me into, a program that was exactly what I needed based on as I had described it to him, on a number of factors that I hadn't realized yet, that he had intuited.
He is that cheerleader. He will get you to a point where you think YOU can do it.
I have a team that's actively working with me, all thanks to Will's connections and judgment based on character and information. I also have an organized idea and business plan that Will has been instrumental in helping me refine every step of the way so that I can bring it forward and attract new members and also funding financing. I know who to go to. I know who to talk to. Will is that wonderful light in the dark at the start of any venture that will not only light your path up, he will show you the paths available and help you pick the right one.
